Thoughts are parasites
I consider thoughts as parasites. Flesh eating ones to be precise. You may agree or disagree but these little metaphysical creatures are more than enough to either rejuvenate your life or to decay it slowly and steadily like a tooth.
The point is we are hosting creatures being controlled by the thoughts that we think in our day to day life. In current time, Life moves at a pace where a subtle and the ordinary becomes blur but sadly even the extraordinary fails to impress us these days. And this nature of perception has slowly crawled into our thoughts-making us dull and number to our emotions and receptive senses to our environment.
I truly believe that our very own thoughts and curiosity for growth is and will be the reason for decay of the consciousness and society.
We often decide to ignore our thoughts because-
We hate to encounter negative things and be bearer of bad news
We are just so busy in our life that we run on autopilot without any sort of presence of mind
We are scared to face our past traumas
At least these are the reasons I found while pondering upon the reason ‘why my brain feels so cluttered and disorganized.
Our thought are the index for our existence.
J.krishnamurti once said “Observer is observed”.

Nicely written! Very true ✨️
As an overthinker myself, I love the idea of thoughts as parasites, however I must have a very different brain as I struggle to recognise myself in your explanation of the reasons for ignoring thoughts.
